Local projects

BFF welcomes volunteers, both local and international, to assist with local projects.

Hill Tribe children's hostels

Right now - funding is required to build a basic structure to house visiting parents and volunteers. In the future, a limited number of volunteers will have the opportunity to stay close to the children's hostel. Participants will stay in basic accommodation, sharing simple food and experience first hand the resilience and optimism of the children, their hostel carers and parents.

There are many roles: working directly the children (5-14 years) or working behind the scenes to support the hostel operations. No specific experience is required – simply an enthusiasm to improve the life of the children and a positive, flexible attitude!

Visitors are asked to support the BFF by paying a nominal amount of 1000THB (approx US$30-) per day plus make a 2500THB contribution to transport expenses and bedding (mattress, pillow, blanket and mosquito net). This money will contribute much needed funds to significantly improve the health status of the Hill Tribe children.

Applications forms for volunteers are currently being developed.
